Troubles seem so far away until it happens to someone you know. As is the case with one of our very own found in Kasen Filbert of Buffalo. He was diagnosed with Stage II – Testicular Cancer back in December and recently he has begun chemotherapy treatment.
Since Filbert has been diagnosed, a Help Fight Kasen’s Fight – GoFundMe page has been set up to help offset the cost of his surmounting medical bills.
Filbert wanted to keep everything about this low key as to not burden anyone for his personal ailments, but that just wouldn’t be the Wyoming way to see someone in need and not help out.
We’re hoping to do our part and spread the word and also put to you fine folk to help Kasen out in his fight against cancer.
He’s already undergone his first round of chemotherapy and he is currently recovering before he is to begin his second round in the coming weeks.
Kasen’s GoFundMe page was started by his sister, Katrina Clements, with sentiments that their family would appreciate any donations made to support Kasen’s treatment, but if anything they are asking “for your prayers and kind words.”
As of writing this article, they’re about $500 shy of reaching their goal of $3,000 with 13 days left.
If you feel so inclined, please share this article with those you know on social media, via email, and/or over the phone and in-person conversions.
Katrina made mention that this is also an opportunity to share and spread awareness around testicular cancer, especially to young men that might not think it could happen to them.
Personal interview and more details can be found in The Buffalo Bulletin’s post about Kasen’s condition written In the Shadow of Cancer.
