We tried the new oxygen bar at the Occidental Hotel.
You might be thinking, “I didn’t even know the Occidental had an O2 Bar,” which is exactly what I was thinking a just few days ago. When I did find out, I was both intrigued and a bit skeptical.
I was born and raised in Wyoming and have never felt the need to visit an oxygen bar for any reason. I figured, we have some of the best air quality in the world here; what could a little more oxygen do for me? I read about some of the supposed benefits that some extra oxygen could have on the body, like reducing stress, relaxing and reinvigorating the body, and diminishing headaches and sinus problems, but I wasn’t sold on the whole idea. It sounded too good to be true.
There was only one way to know for sure. So, with stuffed-up sinuses and a bit of a headache, I stepped through the door of the Occidental with oxygen on my mind.
When I walked back out the same door about twenty minutes later, I had a new outlook on the benefits an oxygen bar can have on the body. My headache had dissipated, and I could breathe better than I had all day. I was particularly cynical about the claim of having more energy afterwards, but I actually felt refreshed and energized.
“What was it like?” you ask. I was greeted with the friendly hospitality that people expect from the Occidental, and Nancy proceeded to show me how the system worked. The prices were reasonable, and I chose a ten-minute session. Of the many different flavors, I enjoyed the citrus blend the most. If you’d rather not have a flavor, no problem. You can turn the flavor off and just breathe the regular oxygen. Where’s the fun in that though?
The room was comfortable and the dim lighting contrasting the bubbling, neon flavor tubes made the whole atmosphere enjoyable. Cards were on the table highlighting the many benefits of extra oxygen. Before trying the oxygen bar, I doubted the benefits, but after, I saw the positive effects for myself. I know that I will definitely be back in the near future.
If you’re like us and have never tried an oxygen bar or don’t know much about it, the Occidental Hotel is the perfect place to give it a try. Not only will you get to try something new and beneficial that you likely won’t find elsewhere in Wyoming, but you can do it in the familiar, historical comfort of the Occidental.
If you’re looking to spend a few minutes doing something new and fun, head over to the Occidental Hotel in downtown Buffalo and give the oxygen bar a try! You won’t regret it!
